Colleges Discounting Tuition?

College admissions and student loan expert John Hupalo talks about how colleges are discounting tuition behind closed doors.

Considering that there is approximately $1.5 trillion of student loan debt , it makes sense that they would lower tuition! Many Generation Z kids are opting out of higher education to start working and/or take their time at a community college.

I wish that they did this when I went to school!

It seems that the private and for profit Div III schools are much more flexible. I like Mr. Hupalo's point that the future student needs to include all of their interests and involvements. It's also a benefit for students to travel with their church youth groups when in high school...especially international mission trips. That is an eye-popper on enrollment applications.

As a single mom with a child at a small private college I was so thankful for the money my father left me so that my son could go to the college of his choice and where he has really thrived. He even received a half tuition scholarship but even though that seems like a lot, it barely touches the cost when you have to add in living and books, etc. No doubt that something we all need more and more, a college education, is more and more expensive.
